Is ISAB a governing body?
No. ISAB is a voluntary, services-based association for independent and private schools in Botswana. ISAB does not govern or manage any schools.
Which schools are eligible for membership?
Any independent or private school in Botswana may apply for ISAB membership. Each member school pays an annual subscription fee to receive ISAB services.
Does ISAB register schools to operate?
No. ISAB is not a statutory body and cannot register schools to operate. Registration takes place through the Ministry of Basic Education (forms available from the relevant District or Regional Education Office).
Is ISAB active in Southern Africa?
Yes. ISAB is an affiliate member of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA), the largest association of independent and private schools in the region.
